Mr.Drexler, I just love your blog (but I haven’t read everything). I especially like the fact that you are a sincere, real Christian….

I have read a few of your columns. The one on J. Smith and the one on Obama.
Interesting stuff on J Smith and the Book of Mormon I hadn’t heard before. I just wish it was true, but who really knows for sure? I was raised morman and my whole family is. I started questioning it when I was young. As I got older I then started reading about JS life. I guess most don’t really know enough about their religion and don’t want to know. I really can’t see why anyone would believe this, or any other religion. This brings me to your quote about Obama : “Of course, it’s pretty easy to con even large numbers of people when many of those people don’t bother checking out your background” just apply this to any religion and bang, you should be a non-believer. What is so weird to me is that, for many it doesn’t make a dent in their brainwashed heads.

Well, I’m certainly not anti-religion, as I’m a Christian. And I would love to talk with you about it sometime, if you’re interested.

It would be easier for you to read some Hitchens, Dawkins, Harris, Bertrand Russell etc. I pretty much agree with their opinions about organised religion.

I read “God is Not Great” shortly after its publication, and I’ve read numerous short excerpts of Dawkins, and a few of Harris. So I suppose I can make a pretty good general guess at how you feel about organized religion.

Despite my being a Christian, I have mixed feelings about “organized religion,” though perhaps for different reasons than you. I believe that Christianity is not about buildings or committees or governing hierarchies, but about a personal relationship with my Creator, Jesus, and about discovering the truth of reality.

Am I correct to presume that you’re an atheist? Or perhaps you’re an agnostic. Or maybe you’re not into labels, as such. Could you describe for me how you view the world and existence?

    Dear Mr. Drexler,
I’ve very recently stumbled upon your blog and after reading a few of your entries I felt compelled to get in touch. It has been a while since I have thoroughly enjoyed a good read of anything and your posts are excellent! I shall hope to see more entries in the future.
    Yours sincerely,

Thank you so much. I presume, based on your screen name, that you’re referring to my Language Lessons? I’m amazed at the popularity of “Say ‘Good Night’ to ‘Goodnight.’ ” If only I could figure out how to make money off it. =)
