Dems Drop ‘God’ From Platform

This isn’t shocking, or surprising, but is nonetheless noteworthy (per CBN’s David Brody):

Guess what? God’s name has been removed from the Democratic National Committee platform.

This is the paragraph that was in the 2008 platform:

“We need a government that stands up for the hopes, values, and interests of working people, and gives everyone willing to work hard the chance to make the most of their God-given potential.”

Now the words “God-given” have been removed. The paragraph has been restructured to say this:

“We gather to reclaim the basic bargain that built the largest middle class and the most prosperous nation on Earth – the simple principle that in America, hard work should pay off, responsibility should be rewarded, and each one of us should be able to go as far as our talent and drive take us.”

The best part of the article:

The Brody File has calls into DNC to explain why God’s name has been dropped from the platform. Some critics will suggest that when you have planks in your platform that support abortion rights and gay marriage then it’s no wonder that God’s name would be dropped as well.

Democrat Fires Cheap Shot at Ann Romney

Democratic National Committee adviser Hilary Rosen said Wednesday that Ann Romney, wife of expected Republican presidential nominee Mitt, has never had a real job.

I’m guessing that Rosen has never had kids—because the Romneys have FIVE, and Ann and Mitt made the decision long ago for Ann to stay home and devote all her time to raising those five children. I have one child, and it’s hard work raising her—it’s been rewarding, but more challenging than any “job” I’ve ever had, and more challenging than completing my college education. I can imagine that raising five is a monumental task.

Liberals, of course, generally don’t have a lot of kids—it’s a statistical truth; look it up if you want—which is probably why they don’t realize how much work it takes to raise them. I’m no Mitt Romney fan, and anyone who follows my blog knows that I have big problems with Mormonism, but for anyone to say—as Rosen did—“Guess what, his wife has actually never worked a day in her life”—is heartless as well as brainless.

This foolish comment, of course, comes just as Democrats have begun chanting the mantra that Republicans have declared a “war on women.” Talk about the pot calling the kettle black.

And since I brought it up, this alleged “war on women” to which Dems are referring has to do, I presume, with the GOP’s fight against that part of ObamaCare that would force taxpayers to pony up for other people’s contraception, which I already addressed here. The real war on women is being waged by liberals, who want women to be “liberated” power chasers, preferably childless, mannish (if not lesbian than at least “tough,” and certainly not motherly), and well-supplied with birth control paid for by someone else.

Great. Now I’m all riled up and loaded for bear.
